Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis)
Aloe vera contains numerous vitamins and minerals, enzymes, amino acids and natural sugars which are anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. The combination and balance of the plant's ingredients are what gives it its healing properties and is extremely effective for easing the painful symptoms of skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and acne. It acts as a natural barrier that gently shields the skin whilst destroying bacteria that try to invade cuts or open wounds. Studies have also shown that aloe vera is particularly effective in the healing of burns and is often used by dermatologists to speed healing after facial dermabrasion (removal of scars from the skin's top layers).

Aqua
Aqua, or water, is one of the most used ingredients in skin care products because it has five important functions; it is a lubricant, a solvent, a transportant, a dispersant and a coolant. The water used in skin care products is highly purified to conform to microbiological standards, ensuring that it is free from impurities and is de-ionized so as not to interfere with other ingredients used. Water is essential for radiant skin whether it be external bathing, internal consumption or as a natural skin care ingredient, leaving skin clearer, healthier and younger looking as a result.

Citric Acid Citric acid is a natural preservative and a weak organic acid found in a wide variety of plants and fruit, particularly citrus fruit. It's frequently added to skin care products as a natural pH control agent. Fine grade citric acid is often combined with sodium bicarbonate in the production of bath bombs and bath creamers as the two ingredients produce carbon dioxide and makes for pleasantly effervescent water.
Containing Vitamin C, citric acid is an effective antioxidant that can help refresh skin and reduce the look of ageing by promoting new skin growth and destroying free radicals. One of the best benefits of citric acid in all its applications is that it's natural and poses little to no risk to the environment. Very few people are allergic to citric acid making it safe and gentle to use.

Glycerin Glycerin is a neutral, colourless, thick liquid which freezes to a thick paste and a natural by-product of soap making. It's part of the skin's own natural lipid structure and helps the skin to attract and retain its own natural moisture, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated while permitting it to breathe. Glycerine is primarily used as an emollient (an ingredient that helps to balance or maintain the moisture levels in the skin) and frequently skimmed off by commercial soap manufacturers for use in their more profitable lotions and creams which reduces the moisturising abilities of their soap. At Naturally You all our soaps are handmade so that they retain all of their natural glycerin and moisturising qualities

White Tea The antioxidants in white tea work by preventing any damage from free radicals which are known to cause premature aging. Because white tea is left uncured and unoxidized, studies suggest that it has more anti-viral and anti-bacterial qualities than green tea making it an extremely popular ingredient in skin care products.
